The skeleton dance

November 4th, 2007

Directed by Walt Disney, drawn by Ub Iwerks.

Description: Another important part of cartoon animation history, Walt Disney’s dancing skeletons put together a wonderful cartoon filled with original humor, music and sound effects. Amazingly, this cartoon was created as early as 1929, and at that time could only be viewed in real cinemas, as opposed to today when cartoons and animations themselves are mainly viewed via TV or Internet, and even there good pieces have become a rarity. This is a happy playful cartoon that the kids will most surely enjoy so be sure to have them around if you’re a parent.

Rock my boat

October 29th, 2007

Directed by Jenny Coburn, Thomas Hicks and Will Perrens - Moshi Moshi Records.

Description: Seeing as my internet provider is acting up tonight (either that or the fact I haven’t paid my bill), here’s a nice animated music video from Dntel. Enjoy.

Seryi volk & Krasnaya Shapochka

October 27th, 2007

Written and directed by Garry Bardin.

Description: Many consider this to be a true gem of modern russian animation, produced in a society where censorship was losing control and depicting a funny perspective of the decaying USSR. This is a comical remix and mix at the same time of stories such as the Little red riding hood, The three little pigs and Snow white, a cocktail of russian irony and american culture. Even though it is in russian, the picture is subtitled and is a really funny wonderful watch.
